Brenda Callaghan

Welcome to the Weymouth Township School District! My name is Brenda Callaghan, and I am deeply honored to serve our community as both Superintendent of Schools and Principal.

Having lived and worked in Atlantic County as an educator and school administrator for 21 years, this region is more than just where I work—it is my home. From my very first interactions at Board of Education meetings, Back to School Nights, and school events, I felt the genuine warmth, pride, and dedication that make Weymouth Township such a special place to grow and learn.

Educational Leadership & Background

Over my 21-year career in public education across Atlantic County, I have focused on building student-centered learning environments, strengthening community partnerships, and guiding school culture.

• Dual-Role Leadership: Leading Weymouth in a combined capacity as Superintendent and Principal allows me to stay closely connected to both our district-wide vision and the daily classroom experience of our students.

• Social-Emotional Support: I am passionate about nurturing the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally.

• Community Engagement: I view education as a true team effort, grounding my leadership in open communication, mutual respect, and strong home-school partnerships.

Educational Philosophy

At the core of my approach is a belief that the best schools inspire a genuine joy of learning. Classrooms should be safe, welcoming spaces where curiosity is sparked and every child feels empowered to reach their fullest potential. When families, educators, and community members trust one another and work hand-in-hand, our students thrive in every aspect of their lives.

Beyond the Classroom

At home in nearby Northfield, I share my life with my husband and our two Australian Shepherds. You might even see one of them around the halls—he is a certified Therapy Dog who regularly visits Weymouth Township School to bring comfort, smiles, and extra encouragement to our students!  Away from school we love outdoor activities - hiking; paddleboard and kayaking, golf and camping!

Whether at a school function, a board meeting, or out in the neighborhood, I am always eager to connect. I look forward to working together as we write the next vibrant chapter for Weymouth Township Schools!
