The New Jersey Department of Education's Self-Assessment for Determining Grades under the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act (ABR) is intended to help schools and school districts evaluate efforts in implementing the ABR. The Self-Assessment serves as an opportunity for schools and school districts to reinforce and strengthen HIB prevention and intervention programs, policies and practices. The results of this self-assessment were based on data and practices established since the implementation of the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act in the September 2011-2012 school year. The school grade is a raw score of data and the sum of the ratings for all indicators within each core element on the School Self-Assessment. A minimum score of 50 is required in order to meet all necessary requirements and the maximum score a school can receive is 78.
